Lyrics

1. The C  (5:25)

Written by Do Peterson, Zoe Bermet, Jeanne Morefield, Kirk Van Scoyoc; with artistry from Camilo Estrada – Bass, Diane Mapes – Accordion.

To and fro, feeling the power, the toss and tow.  Now is the hour, to go below.  Sailing a dark sea of pain.

Wait for me.  Tossing and turning, too late for me.  Hoping and yearning, give up the key.

A chest of scars hidden awaits.

Boat taking water, help nowhere in sight, and the waves getting meaner, and cold in the night.

Fingers grab for a handhold; I cry out in anger.  My hands have gone numb, as I grope for an anchor.

To and fro, feeling the power, the toss and tow.  Now is the hour, to go below.  Sailing a dark sea of shame.

Wait for me.  Tossing and turning, too late for me.  Hoping and yearning, give up the key.

A chest of dark secrets awaits.

Boat is capsizing.  A frozen fog covers with ice, all the masting, and rails going under,

The roar of the ocean.  I cry out in anger.  The siren’s sweet song is a deafening clangor.

Boat of hope vanished.  I’m bone cold, exhausted.  The life vest is failing.  I’m panicking, flailing,

And grasping at water.  I cry out in anger.  Then down through the current, to stew in my rancor.

To and fro, feeling the power, the toss and tow.  Now is the hour, I go below.

Don’t wait for me.  Tossing and turning, too late for me.  No hoping or yearning, give up the key.

A chest of dark spirits awaits.

2. Brave Face  (4:55)

Written by Do, Jeanne, Zoe; with artistry from Diane – Accordion, Paul Apostolidis – Mandolin.

Walk about with your mother.  Walk about with your father.  Walk about with your lover.  Put on your bravest face.

Walk about with your sister.  Walk about with your brother.  Walk about with another.  Wearing your bravest face.

And you’ll be on your way.  And you pretend to feel okay.

Move and stray from complications, showing all your sorrows.  (If your life is a muddle…)

Move to stay in warm vacation, dreams of nice tomorrows.  (Put away all your troubles.)

Move away from those who say, your brave face look is hollow.  (You’ll be safe in your bubble.)

Step around, charm and confound, and keep your truth from everyone.

Sing aloud with your mother.  Sing aloud with your father.  Sing aloud with your lover.  Keep on your bravest face.

Sing aloud with your sister.  Sing aloud with your brother.  Sing aloud with another.  Wearing your bravest face.

And you’ll be on your way.  And you intend to feel okay.

Harmony is all you’ll need, with dear and fav’rite fun songs.  (If your life is a struggle…)

Syncopation with relations, smoothing any great wrongs…  (Put away all your troubles.)

Move away from those who say, your brave face song is hollow.  (Move your ass on the double!)

Dodge and weave with grace and speed, and keep the party going strong!

Dance around with your mother.  (Dance with your ma.)  Dance around with your father.  (Dance with your pa.)

Dance around with your lover.  Put on your bravest smile.  (La la la la…)

Dance around like it’s sunny.  (Dance in the sun.)  Roll around with your honey.  (Roll with your hun.)

Laugh aloud (Ha!) with your buddies.  Sharing your bravest smile.

And folks will feel your style.  And then your life may feel worthwhile.

3. L-Eyes Too Me  (3:35)

Written by Do; with artistry from Camilo – Bass.

Yeah, uh huh…Wasting my eyes on images I can’t see,

Uh huh…Wasting my mind on thoughts I can’t conceive,

Uh huh…Wasting my time on somebody’s Ponzi scheme, lies to me.

Yeah, uh huh…If I work hard, then tell me I will succeed.

Uh huh…If I play fair, then tell me I’m in the lead.

Uh huh…If I am good, then tell me that’s all I need.  We’re agreed.  Lies

LIES, Lies, LIES, Lies, LIES, Lies.   AH…

Yeah, uh huh…If I play along, then I can be a PART OF THE TEAM.

Uh huh…If I drink your cool aid, it will taste RIGHT TO ME.

Uh huh…If buy the goods, satisfaction is guaranteed.  Guaranteed, lies.

LIES, Lies, LIES, Lies, LIES, Lies.   AH…  LIES, LIES, LIES.   AH…

Yeah, uh huh…Open my eyes, there’s nothing for me to see.

Uh huh…Open my mind, but nothing left I believe.

Uh huh…Pile em up high, then watch me take a leap, a faithful leap, and die.

4. Bro Kun  (4:04)

Written by Do; with artistry from Markus Von Prause – Keyboards, Charlotte Lee – Flute.

Bro Kun…

Like a duck, without a beak, who cannot quack, who cannot speak.

Like a tree limb, laying on the street.  Like a puzzle, without a piece.

Like a soup, outside a pot.  Like a flame, without the hot.

Like a home, where the parents yell, and the children cower, and no one tells.

BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN

Bro Kun…

Like a man, whose heart in need, and tries to love, does not succeed.

Like a chain, without a link.  Like distraction, when you want to think.

Like a man, at the pharmacy, terrified, by the drugs he needs.

Like a shoe, scuffed and worn, thread unraveled, and laces gone.

BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN,

BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN

Bro Kun…

Like a chain, around a neck, in a failed half-hearted, suicide attempt.

Like a heart, that does not beat.  Like a mouth, that cannot breathe.

Like a voice that no one hears, that does not speak, that does not share,

That will not sing, that is ashamed, to be so broken, to feel so maimed.

BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN, BROKEN

Bro Kun…

Like a toy, behind a chair, that no one wants, and no one cares.

Like a duck, without a beak, who cannot quack, who cannot speak

BROKEN, BROKEN, BRO KUN

5. Ideation  (2:14)

Written by Do; with artistry from Camilo – Bass.

Ideation, Ideation, Ideation, Ideation,

Ideation shun shun shun, Ideation shun shun shun, Ideation shun shun shun, Ideation shun shun shun...

Suicidal thoughts in my head.  Make me wish I’m dead.  No breath, no pulse.  No pain, no gain.

Non-starter in the most extreme.  Kept inside and unseen.

Stigma keep me silent.  Words in my head violent to myself.  Nowhere to hide.

I keep my ideation inside.  I keep my ideation inside.

Ideation, Ideation, Ideation, Ideation,

Ideation shun shun shun, Ideation shun shun shun, Ideation shun shun shun, Ideation shun shun shun…

Dream a gun pointed to my head.  Then I’m dead.  Dread daily drama.  Minutia, please make it stop.

Pop bottle sleeping pills.  Jump off a window sill.  Ideation playing that over and over and over and over.

Ideation, Ideation, Ideation, Ideation,

Ideation shun shun shun, Ideation shun shun shun, Ideation shun shun shun, Ideation shun shun shun…

My friends don’t know.  My fam’ly I can’t tell.  Keep a good face on.  Show that I’m doing well.

Help I gotta get out of this cycle I gotta get, HELP.  I gotta get out of this cycle I gotta get, HELP.

I gotta get out of this cycle I gotta get, HELP Help Help Help HELP HELP HELP Peace!

6. The Boss  (7:26)

Written by Do; with artistry from Trisha Steidl – Vocals.

I’m ready to work.  I roll up my sleeves.  I slip on my shoes, and look for the keys

With a lump in my throat and haste in my step, I’m ready to go.

I lock my front door and walk to the road.

An appointment to meet, will be right on time.  Discussing some things that have been on my mind.

There’s a guy in a chair; don’t know if he’s fair, gonna listen to me

I get in my car and drive down the street.

I arrive 5 before.  Push open the door.  Step into a room, others waiting before.

I’m scanning around for a place to sit down.  I try not to stare

The receptionist nods.  I walk over there.

My credit card out, I stick the chip in.  The paper prints out.  I sign with the pen.

I feel my pulse race.  I’m flush in the face.  It’s time to begin.

The guy calls my name.  I walk back with him.  When the boss calls my name.  My therapy session begins!

7. Red E4 Ax Shun  (5:33)

Written by Do, Bruce Hall.

Ready for action!  Take a fancy pill if you will…  To help with your ill.

Ready for action!  Make your therapy your goal.  Mend your pieces into whole…  And feed your soul.

Move into your soul-ar system, orbit round and find your rhythm.  Feel the sun.  Ahhh!

Ready for action!  Clean your mind of all unkind, thoughts inside.  Clear your eyes.

Ready for action!  Let the experts make you well, and use their knowledge to expel…  The dark you’ve held.

Mark the miles that you have come, the love you make and love undone.  Feel the burn.  Ahhh!

Ready for action!  Ready for action!  Ready for action!  Ready for action!

Ready for action!  Ready for action!  Ready for action!  Ready for action!  Ready for action!

Mark the miles that you have come, the love you’ve lost and love you’ve won.  No regrets.

Pack it, Sell it, Whack it, Smell it.   Work it, Arch it, Mean it, March it.

Ready for action!  Function, Fitness, Traction, Litmus.  Hunger, Needy, Lovey, Feedy.  Act!

Merge into your soul-ar system.  Pay attention; find your rhythm.  Save yourself.  Ohhh?

Feel the beat of my heart.  Ready for action!  The heat of my heart…  Is ready for action!

Feel the beat of my heart.  Ready for action!  The heat of my heart…  Feel the beat of my heart.

Boom!  Ah!  Boom!  Ah!  Boom!  Ah!  Boom, Boom!

9. On Line  (5:42)

Written by Do, Jeanne, Zoe, Kirk; with artistry from Camilo – Bass.

Ah…  Ah…

In dream or conscious, stream of words, to frame the world, in me to you, so you see through

My eyes and soul, to love and pain, in pride or shame.  It doesn’t even matter.

Indeed it’s true, I reach to you, with my intent, to be a friend, to share my love

With you, to dance around, the rude misunderstand, and focus on the gladness, that we share…

Log in on-line, the platform of my mind, whoa.  Log in on-line, the signal strength is fine, whoa

Log in with me, the password in my eyes, whoa.  Check in to see if we can be one mind, whoa.

Sun in my eye, glare in my face, holding the reins, to keep it straight, and walk the line

The light above is blind to love, and shadows fall, to shade and hide the damage.

And in the true, I reach to you, without pretense.  I come anew afresh

To rest my mind and soul, a batter flow, to scatter woe, a focus on the madness if you dare…

Log in on-line, the platform of my mind, whoa.  Log in on-line, the signal strength is fine, whoa

Log in with me, the password in my eyes, whoa.  Check in to see if we can be one mind, whoa.

Ah…  Ah…

Log in on-line, the platform of my mind, whoa.  Log in on-line, the signal strength is fine, whoa

Log in with me, the password in my eyes, whoa.  Check in to see if we can be one mind, whoa.

Log in on-line, the platform of my mind, whoa.  Log in on-line, the signal strength is fine, whoa

Log in with me, the password in my eyes, whoa.  Check in to see if we can be one mind, whoa.

10. Found Heart (5:20)

Written by Do.

I found my heart just yesterday.  I felt it there beating away.  I put my hand upon my chest and understood

I found my heart just yesterday.  I lost it, when I cannot say.  It put my mind and soul to rest.  It felt so good.

Mmmm.  Hand on the chest, feeling its warmth, feeling your love, your home.

Hand on the heart, hearing its song, finally know you belong.

I felt my heart beat in my chest. And would not take life from it; yet, I was unsure of what is best, to give it care.

I felt my heart beat in my chest. And did not know what to expect.  But understood, nevertheless, importance there.

Mmmm.  Hand on the chest, feeling its warmth, feeling your love, your home.

Hand on the heart, hearing its song, finally know you belong.

Hand on the chest, feeling its warmth, feeling your love, your home.

Hand on the heart, hearing its song, finally know you belong.

11. AYKILY  (4:37)

Written by Do, Jeanne, Zoe, Kirk; with artistry from Markus – Keyboards.

And you know I love you.  And you know I love you.  And you know I do.  And you know I do.

And you know I love you.  And you know I love you.  And you know I do.  And you know I do.

I move to the spirit of the Father in the Son and a Holy respect of life and self, replete.

Complete in the nature of man and God, one, in the balance with the earth and Mother nature.

Fear not.   Did not, forget love in the spirit that moves through.  Be cool…

True the medicine.  Love is the medicine.  A walk in the neighborhood of Peace.

Ease the mind.  Calm and kind.  Lift and shine.  Raise it up.

Keep the eyes, so high above, dark and woe.  Stormy days.  Keep the grace.

Walk the way, of life-become, what you love.  Reach in.  Stretch out.  Look all around and start.

Begin with the heart.  End with the heart.  Using the brain.  Keeping the time.  With a head bob.

Boom shaka laka laka Boom Boom Boom, shaka laka laka Boom Boom Boom, etc.

And you know I love you.  And you know I love you.  And you know I do.  And you know I do.

Hey, what up pup?  All in your stuff, love.  Giving my word to you beautiful sirs and hers.

Respect you, me, she, he, trans, on the spectrum of love.  Give it up pup.

Embracing us all, in a hug from C to C.  Stretching around all the hate speak.  Stepping on a sweet beat.

Mean it when you say it, Love!  Feel it when you pray it, Love!  Love away the anger and fear, dear.

Brown to red, yellow to tan, human.  Curly to kinky to straight, gay or bi, say Hi!

Olive or ebony, alabaster to blue, shades of truth shared.  Dare to care, aware of another.  Yourself in the other.

Embraced in the struggle.  My trouble, your trouble.  We carry each other when at our best.

Defy hate; don’t wait.  Choose love.  Give love.  Make love.  Live.

And you know I love you.  And you know I love you.  And you know I do.  And you know I do.

And you know I love you.  And you know I love you.  And you know I do.  And you know I do.

And you know I love you!

12. Due 2 Me  (4:15)

Written by Do; with artistry from Markus – Keyboards.

What else you gonna due 2 me, another strike at my dignity?  Call me names.  Throw your sticks and stones.

Break me down; leave me all a-lone.  Humiliate me; try to strip my grace.  Take me down into a deep dark place.

What else you gonna do to me, do to me, to me?

What else you gonna due 2 me?  I don’t mind if we disagree.  I don’t care if you get angry.

I’m aware you can get real mean.  Gonna rise if you push me down.  Gonna shine through your darkest cloud.

What else you gonna do to me, do to me, to me?

If I can’t sing, gonna speak. If I can’t speak, gonna write.  If I can’t write, gonna walk.

If I can’t walk, gonna stand.  If I can’t stand, gonna sit.  If I can’t sit, gonna stay right here.

Your gonna have to deal with me, deal with me, with me!

You can’t make me begin to hate myself.  I don’t feel the need to hurt someone else.

What else you’re gonna do to me?  Take your best shot; I’ll keep on strumming.

What else you’re gonna do to me?  I got love and I’ll keep on giving.

What else you’re gonna do to me?  I lift my voice in song all day long.

Feel the light that shines from within, and it says I’m gonna win.

Due 2 me, dignity, sticks and stones, all a-lone, strip my grace, deep dark place,  Ahhh…

What else you gonna due 2 me, another strike at my dignity?  Call me names, throw your sticks and stones.

Break me down; leave me all a-lone.  Humiliate me; try to strip my grace.  Take me down into a deep dark place.

But there’s a light that shines from within… There’s a light that shines from within…

There’s a light that shines from within…  And it says I’m gonna win.

Yes, the bright light from within, says I’m gonna win.  And I’m ready to begin.  And I’m gonna win
